Happy Teachers Day. :-)

thanks gari. i read your post on teachers' day. you may not have found yourself lecturing or facilitating discussions in a classroom as you dreamed of, but your being an advocate for social reform makes you a teacher in a way. para sa akin, ang pagiging guro ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa kinabibilangan mong institusyon (gaya ng unibersidad) o pagkakaroon ng titulo ng isang akademiko (gaya ng "propesor"); ito'y nasusukat din sa uri ng iyong ginagawa -- kung ika'y tumutulong sa pagpapamulat sa mata ng lipunan patungkol sa mga katotohanang binubulag-bulagan lamang, ika'y kabilang sa hanay ng mga guro. sabi nila, may tatlong uri raw ng edukasyon -- formal, non-formal, informal. lahat ng mga ito ay "learning environments" kung saan may tagapagturo at mag-aaral... sa pakiwari ko, meron ding mga tinaguriang guro na hindi tunay na guro (ang naaalala ko mula sa literatura ukol dito ay ang karakter na "dr. olvido" sa "the undiscovered country" ni prop. luis teodoro) :)
